FAQ

Quick answers before your next dive.

How does app blocking work?

Dive Monke uses Apple’s Family Controls and Screen Time frameworks to shield distracting apps during a focus session. The first time you enable it, iOS asks for Screen Time approval inside Dive Monke. There is no per-app Dive Monke toggle to find in iOS Settings.

Apple gives Dive Monke opaque selections, so the app does not learn or transmit the names of the apps you choose.

What can I block for free?

Blocking all available apps during a dive is free. Choosing specific apps or categories to block is a Certified Diver feature, for people who want a more tailored focus setup.

What comes with Certified Diver?

Certified Diver earns 3× bananas, unlocks specific-app blocking, and opens the door to exclusive mythic fish. Plans are $17.99 per year with a 7-day free trial, $3.99 per month, or $29.99 lifetime. Apple handles purchases and will show the final price before you confirm.

Do my fish and bananas sync across devices?

Not automatically yet. Your collection, bananas, history, and settings live locally on the device for now. A smoother iCloud backup and restore experience is coming; until then, do not assume that installing Dive Monke on another iPhone will bring your reef with it.

Is Dive Monke coming to Android?

Dive Monke is Apple-first. Its distraction blocking is built closely around Apple’s Screen Time tools, so bringing the same experience to Android is not a quick port. We would love to welcome Android divers one day, but there is no launch date to share yet.

What happens if I delete the app?

Because progress is stored on your device, deleting Dive Monke removes its local data. Treat an uninstall like draining the local aquarium unless you have a backup option available in your version of the app.

Where can I download Dive Monke or get more help?

Dive Monke is currently in TestFlight and is not yet listed on the App Store. The App Store link will appear here at launch. For help, feedback, or excellent fish observations, email hello@divemonke.com.
